Sharp Aquos Q+, The Highest Resolution Full HD TVs, Now Available
Sharp today announced the nationwide availability of its AQUOS Q+ series of televisions, the highest resolution Full HD TVs. First unveiled at the 2014 International CES, Q+ televisons feature 10 million more subpixels than standard Full HD, for more detail, depth and color. Q+ TVs are the only Full HDTVs to accept a 4K signal and play it back at near-4K resolution, with an effective resolution of up to 3840x2160. All Q+ TVs feature Sharp’s Revelation Upscaler, which takes HD content and optimizes it for the higher resolution screen, so that it’s sharper and more vivid.

Sharp LC-70SQ15U
Q+ provides consumers a high-resolution option between standard Full HD and 4K. Because the Q+ TVs are built using a 1080p panel, they can be priced at almost half of today’s premium 4K sets.
The Q+ series will be available in the most popular large screen sizes, 60”, 70” (69.5” diag.) and 80” class and the SQ and UQ lines. The SQ line, which is already available, comes in two screen sizes 60” and 70” (69.5” diag.) class.
The UQ line, which will arrive in stores in mid-March, will be available in 60”, 70” (69.5” diag.) and 80” class screen sizes and will have premium features such as THX certification, AquoMotion 960, Super Bright, premium design with aluminum bezel, 3D with 2 pairs of glasses, powerful 35W audio and Bluetooth.
All Sharp AQUOS Smart LED TVs also come with a built-in web browser and TV/Web split screen functionality, allowing the viewer to watch TV on one half of the screen, while simultaneously browsing the web.
Sharp’s Smartcentral 3.0: Truly Intuitive TV
AQUOS Q+ televisions will all feature Sharp’s totally new smart TV platform, SmartCentral 3.0. The new SmartCentral platform lets viewers search less and discover more with a smart guide that integrates cable, satellite and streaming channels and allows you to search across live content sources by title, genre, time and popularity. It’s so intelligent it will even help you discover new content by providing recommendations based on your preferences—no more launching individual apps to find the shows you want to watch.
All the best apps are available on SmartCentral. From instant access to movies with Netflix, Hulu Plus and Vudu, to videos with YouTube, music with Pandora and Rhapsody, social with Facebook, and gaming—what you love is only a click away.
With the SmartCentral 3.0 mobile app, available for free for iOS and Android, viewers can connect smartphones and tablets to Sharp AQUOS TVs to search and discover content, use them as a remote control, and share videos, pictures and music.
All Sharp AQUOS Smart LED TVs also come with a built-in web browser and TV/Web split screen functionality, allowing the viewer to watch TV on one half of the screen, while simultaneously browsing the web.
